Hannah Truby is a freelance writer and photographer based in the Reno-Tahoe region.

She serves as a reporter and managing editor at The Sierra Nevada Ally and is the editorial coordinator for Mountain Gazette.

Hannah specializes in long-form features and explanatory journalism, exploring the intersections of civic life, culture, and the environment with a strong focus on human-centered, nuanced storytelling.

With a Master’s in Journalism from the University of Nevada, Reno, and a B.A. in English and German linguistics, she brings a deep appreciation for language, culture, and place to every story. Hannah is passionate about the power of storytelling to inform, inspire, and connect communities.
